The Georgia product just visited Austin for the Georgia game.
A key target of Texas Longhorns defensive line coach Kenny Baker is now officially on the open market after Grayson (Ga.) product Joseph Mbatchou announced his decommitment from the Florida Gators on Monday.

The 6’4.5, 275-pounder just visited Austin for Saturday’s game against Georgia for an official visit, his second trip to the Forty Acres since receiving his offer from Baker in August.
Four-star DL Joseph Mbatchou reopens his recruitment and will have a final decision made in December. Texas hosted Mbatchou for an OV over the weekend @JoeMbatchou @orangebloods_ https://t.co/Khx1kri30E https://t.co/dMl8UCzFQX pic.twitter.com/wy2CE5tV94

Mbatchou told Horns247, “I love everything about Texas.”
Still raw as a prospect, Mbatchou’s upside has attracted attention from across the country as his recruitment has taken off over the last two months — the now-former Florida pledge has official visits set to Michigan, which just offered, to Auburn, to Tennessee, and to USC, along with a planned trip to Gainesville, which may or may not happen with his Monday decision.
When Texas extended its offer to Mbatchou, he was a consensus three-star prospect ranked outside the top 1,300 players nationally and the top 130 defensive linemen. Now he’s the No. 425 player in the country and the No. 41 defensive lineman in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
After a difficult summer stretch during which defensive tackles who took official visits committed elsewhere, Texas has flipped California product Josiah Sharma from Oregon and Florida product Myron Charles from Florida State with a need for several more defensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting class.
