Even though the incoming Georgia-Texas showdown is next weekend, there’s already a betting line out for it.
Texas has opened as a 2.5-point favorite heading into the game, per FanDuel.
This line will change over the next week but it’s no surprise to see Texas open up as a favorite since the game will be at home for the team. Texas is also the No. 1 team in the country right now with a perfect 5-0 record.
If both teams win on Saturday, it’ll be a battle between two of the top five teams in the country since Georgia is currently the No. 5 team in the AP Poll. Georgia is 4-1 with its only loss coming against Alabama on the road.
This will be a big game not only for SEC title hopes, but College Football Playoff hopes as well. Georgia will want to avoid adding another loss to its resume while Texas could look to try and stay undefeated assuming it can beat Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown this Saturday.
There’s a good chance College GameDay will be in Austin for next week’s game since it’s arguably the game of the week next to Alabama-Tennessee.
Kickoff for Georgia-Texas on October 19 will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
