Good news, bad news, or both?
The Texas Longhorns will travel to Dallas this week to take on Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinals’ Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, and it seems likely that the weather will suck. Cotton Bowl officials released a statement on weather reports today.
“We are routinely monitoring weather reports and we are in close contact with AT&T Stadium and local officials,” Cotton Bowl officials wrote in a news release. “We always have plans for inclement weather. Should conditions warrant it, we will communicate to everyone attending and connected with this year’s Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.”
As Sports Illustrated notes, weather conditions will have little impact on Friday’s actual CFP game since (Arkansas native Jerry Jones and) the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium is the actual host site. But for Ohio State fans and out-of-state Texas fans hoping to fly into Dallas to catch the game? This could spell a little bit of trouble (or a lot of bit of airport headaches) ahead of Texas and Ohio State’s face-off, as temperatures are expected to range between a low of 27 and high of 36 degrees in the Dallas and nearby Arlington areas later this week.
Then again, an AT&T Stadium filled almost exclusively with burnt orange would be nice.
We welcome @TexasFootball back to North Texas for its 23rd #GoodyearCottonBowl Classic appearance.
