Contrary to prior reports, Arch Manning will be featured in EA Sports College Football 25.
Earlier this year, the Texas quarterback allegedly opted out of the video game because he was “focused on playing football on the field.” Manning reportedly didn’t want to appear in the College Football series until he became “the guy” for the Longhorns.
However, Manning confirmed Tuesday that gamers can play as him in this year’s installment. The sophomore shared a video of him getting instructed by his uncle, Eli Manning, who seemed to playfully reference the opt-out report from March.
“Are you sure about this?” Arch asked Eli after receiving a play call.
“Absolutely,” Eli replied. “This is the best way to focus on football.”
A padded Arch mimicked a pre-snap cadence when bellowing “Green 18” before adding “Omaha?” with some uncertainty. He celebrated after virtually throwing a touchdown as himself.
“Now that’s why you’re in the game,” Eli declared.

Manning’s decision is welcome news for college fans planning on buying the video game, which returns from an 11-year hiatus. They may not get a chance to see him get much real-life action, as last year’s top-ranked recruit remains stuck behind Quinn Ewers on the Longhorns’ depth chart.
The 19-year-old recently explained to The Athletic’s Larry Holder why he decided not to transfer for a starting opportunity elsewhere.
“It’s tough because you want to be out there playing with your boys,” Manning said. “But (it came down to) just realizing there’s nowhere else I want to be, and it was my dream to play at Texas. I’m going to stick it out and play there eventually.”
Arch can at least lead the offense in EA Sports College Football 25, which will be released on July 19.
