The Big 12 Player of the Year joins former LSU teammate Angel Reese in Chicago
Hailey Van Lith has capped off her storybook season at TCU with a visit to New York City for the WNBA Draft where the Big 12 Player of the Year was selected with the No. 11 overall pick by the Chicago Sky.
Van Lith led the Horned Frogs to unprecedented heights in the 2024-25 campaign, as TCU won its first Big 12 Regular Season & Tournament Championships before reaching the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. For Van Lith, this was a fifth trip to the Regional Final round, previously advancing there with LSU & Louisville. Earning All-American honors, Van Lith broke the TCU single-season records for points scored & assists while setting NCAA records for games started & minutes played. Van Lith was the first Big 12 player selected in the 2025 Draft and becomes just the second Horned Frog ever selected in the WNBA Draft following Sandora Irvin being selected 3rd overall by the Phoenix Mercury in 2005.
With the 11th pick of the 2025 WNBA Draft, we select Hailey Van Lith.

Van Lith will join her former LSU teammate Angel Reese in Chicago, the pair played together in Baton Rouge for the 2023-24 season, guiding the Tigers to the Elite Eight. The Sky finished last season with a 13-27 record, good for 10th in the league and last place in the Eastern Conference. Van Lith was one of four selections made by the Chicago Sky on Monday night, joined by fellow first rounder Slovenian forward Ajsa Sivka and second rounders Notre Dame forward Maddy Westbeld & Texas A&M guard Aicha Coulibaly. Chicago opens the 2025 season on May 17th vs. the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark who was on the Iowa Hawkeyes team that defeated Reese & Van Lith in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
