Horned Frogs ride 34-2 first half run and rain of three-pointers for 92-41 victory
How would the Horned Frogs bounce back from a loss? For the first time this season, 12th-ranked TCU Women’s Basketball faced the challenge of regrouping following a defeat, coming off of the humbling result vs. South Carolina a week ago. Hosting the 18th annual Maggie Dixon Classic, Mark Campbell’s squad passed the test with flying colors on Sunday afternoon, earning its third 50+ point margin of victory this season with a 92-41 victory over Louisiana Tech. Hailey Van Lith led all scorers with 23 points, marking her sixth 20-point game of the season. Madison Conner logged 18 points off the bench with four shots made from behind the arc, crossing the 1,000-point career milestone.

Louisiana Tech entered Schollmaier Arena with a gameplan to slow the pace of play, shorten the game and keep the Horned Frogs within striking distance to have a chance at the upset, consuming the entirety of the shot clock on every possession and working methodical offensive sets. The plan was working at the start as TCU gave away two turnovers and the Lady Techsters jumped to an early 5-3 lead two minutes into the contest. Louisiana Tech would miss its next ten shot attempts and not score again until a minute into the 2nd Quarter as the Horned Frogs rattled off 19 unanswered points and the rout was on. TCU would go into halftime with a 30-point advantage, shooting an incredible 65.5% from the field in the first half, including 50% on three-point attempts, with Van Lith & Sedona Prince each sitting at an even dozen points at the break.

The fun continued for the Frogs in the 2nd Half, holding LA Tech to another single-digit quarter in the third en route to the Lady Techsters lowest scoring output of the season. TCU’s stifling defense was led by Agnes Emma-Nnopu who drew the start for the game and was a swarming menace on the defensive end, taking five steals and a blocked shots. Emma-Nnopu was a terrific all-around playmaker for the Frogs on Sunday, in addition to her lockdown defending she led TCU with 10 rebounds and five assists while scoring seven points
