The Horned Frogs bolster their front line for the upcoming 2024 season.
TCU volleyball has bolstered its front row for the upcoming 2024 season, securing a commitment from former West Virginia opposite hitter Melanie McGann. McGann is a 6-foot-3 hitter from Keller, Texas who has spent the last two seasons with the Mountaineers, appearing in 39 matches over that time. McGann emerged during her freshman season in 2022, logging 103 sets across 30 matches and finishing with 139 kills and 91 total blocks.
COMING HOME!!!
So blessed to announce I will be finishing my volleyball career at TCU! Big thank you to Coach Jason, Morgan, Kyle, and Brett for this opportunity. So thankful for all the support from my family and friends along the way, God is so good & GO FROGS!!! #riffram pic.twitter.com/aILYDouFKF— Melanie McGann (@melaniemcgann) June 20, 2024
McGann played in 12 matches during her sophomore season in 2023, recording 34 kills and 15 total blocks. The Horned Frogs are looking to replace multiple front-row hitters including Audrey Nalls and Julia Adams, who each rank in the top 10 in kills at TCU. The Horned Frogs are also looking to replace middle blocker Bri Green and outside hitter Taylor Raiola. McGann is the second notable transfer added this offseason by the Horned Frogs, who signed former Oregon outside hitter Becca Kelley.
