The Horned Frogs celebrated Country Music Day with a 3-0 win over the Mavericks.
TCU volleyball build on its strong performance at the Fight in the Fort with a clean sweep over the UT-Arlington Mavericks in a nonconference midweek match on Tuesday evening. Jalyn Gibson collected a team-high 15 kills for the No. 23 ranked Horned Frogs, who posted a .469 hitting percentage in their 25-11, 25-17, 25-12 victory. Melanie Parra contributed 12 kills and Becca Kelley followed with nine kills for the Horned Frogs (6-2, 0-0 Big 12) who will look to keep gaining steam during the Horned Frog Invitational in Fort Worth this weekend. TCU will face Denver and Rice before beginning Big 12 play against Arizona State on Sept. 25.

Lily Nicholson dished out 31 assists to command the TCU offense against the Mavericks, who were held to an .083 hitting percentage by a strong defensive front line. Alexis Roberson anchored the defense for TCU, posting six blocks while Sarah Sylvester and Lily Nicholson each added three blocks in the match. Freshman Alice Volpe totaled 11 digs and libero Cecily Bramschreiber collected nine digs to lead the Horned Frogs in the back row.
