The Horned Frogs move to 9-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference
TCU volleyball tipped off the Big 12 Conference schedule this past week. The Horned Frogs began the conference slate with a top-25 matchup against No. 14 Arizona State, conceding a three-set sweep before bouncing back with a three-set victory over Arizona on Friday. TCU (9-3, 1-1 Big 12) will travel and face Houston this coming Wednesday. The Horned Frogs will then return home for a Sunday showdown against Baylor at the Schollmaier Arena.

The Horned Frogs hung tough over all three sets, but the Sun Devils persevered to hand the purple and white a 20-25, 22-25, 23-25 defeat. It was the first three-set loss of the season for TCU, which conceded five aces to the Sun Devils. Melanie Parra turned in a double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs, while Jalyn Gibson added eight kills and 12 digs for the Horned Frogs. Sarah Sylvester posted three blocks and Lily Nicholson dished out 33 assists. Freshman Evan Hendrix had her strongest performance of the season, finishing with seven kills after entering the match with two kills over her previous 14 sets played.

The Horned Frogs battled back in a big way against the Wildcats, posting a .388 hitting percentage during a 25-15, 25-19, 25-16 victory. TCU also showed dominance behind the service line, acing the Wildcats nine times. Becca Kelley shined on the front line for the Horned Frogs, notching 10 kills while posting a .667 hitting percentage. Melanie Parra recorded another double-double, totaling 17 kills and 10 digs with four aces. Jalyn Gibson earned nine kills, five digs and three aces, while Lily Nicholson served up 33 assists. Alexis Roberson blocked three shots to spark the TCU defense up front.
