The Horned Frogs have won three straight matches.
The No. 18 TCU volleyball team returned to its home floor on Thursday evening, defeating UCF in three sets to earn a third straight victory in Big 12 Conference play. It’s the only match this week for the Horned Frogs (17-5, 9-3 Big 12), who will hit the road next week for a pair of conference matches against Kansas (Nov. 13) and Kansas State (Nov. 15). The marquee matchup of the week will be with the No. 8 ranked Jayhawks, who are currently 20-2 overall and tied for the conference lead with an 11-1 record in the Big 12.

The Horned Frogs posted a .357 hitting percentage and assisted on 45 of their 48 kills during a 25-21, 26-24, 25-19 win over the Knights at Schollmaier Arena on Thursday. Outside hitters Melanie Parra and Jalyn Gibson combined for 29 kills to lead the TCU attack. Parra led the Horned Frogs with 15 kills and a .344 hitting percentage, while Gibson added 14 kills and put up a team-high .458 hitting percantage. Setter Lily Nicholson dished out 37 assists and freshman libero Alice Volpe notched a team-best 10 digs while adding five assists.

Middle blockers Alexis Roberson and Sarah Sylvester made their presence felt on both offense and defense, combining for four total blocks while compiling seven kills on 14 attempts with only one error. Sylvester is now up to 286 career blocks, which places her in 10th on TCU’s all-time list. Freshman outside hitter Evan Hendrix nearly recorded a double-double for the Horned Frogs, finishing with nine kills and eight digs. TCU hit .400 in the first before and .408 in the third set to secure the three-set sweep over the Knights.
