The Fighting Irish took down TCU 4-0 in South Bend
After a blazing hot start to open the season, with a pair of 3-0 wins and a climb to No. 13 in the United Soccer Rankings, TCU Soccer faced its toughest challenge to date, one of the most difficult games the Horned Frogs will face all season, and a rematch of the 2022 Sweet 16 contest in South Bend, Indiana. Again TCU was shut out, suffering its first defeat of the season, falling 4-0 to the No. 14 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Notre Dame true freshman Izzy Engle sparkled in just her third career game, netting two brilliant goals to bring her season total to five after scoring a hat trick vs. Samford last week.
The Horned Frogs were not without chances, earning four corner kicks and sending 11 shots with three on frame. AJ Hennessey and Caroline Kelly each provided a boost to the TCU offense off the bench, with Bella Diorio and Cam Lancaster each creating opportunities in attack. The shutout is the most lopsided loss for TCU since a 4-0 loss at the hands of the Baylor Bears in 2019.
The Horned Frogs will return to action in Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium on Thursday night vs. Central Michigan before challenging road trips to SMU & Texas A&M.
