The junior from Lima, Ohio will reportedly depart after three seasons with the Horned Frogs.
HornedFrogBlitz reported on June 3 that TCU outfielder Logan Maxwell has entered the transfer portal after three seasons with the Horned Frogs. It’s the first notable loss of the offseason for TCU, as Maxwell was arguably the team’s best hitter during the 2024 season. Maxwell slashed .335/.447/.482 with three homers, 10 stolen bases and 25 RBIs over 46 games started. The junior outfielder from Lima, Ohio is also one of TCU’s most experienced players with 110 appearances and 100 starts made over his three years in Fort Worth.

TCU finished with a 33-21 record and a 14-16 record in the Big 12 Conference during the 2024 season, where the Horned Frogs fell short of reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2018 season. TCU is set to lose one senior outfielder in Luke Boyers, but with Maxwell reportedly on his way out of town, the Horned Frogs will need to lean more on freshman standouts Sam Myers and Chase Brunson, who each enjoyed strong seasons.
Maxwell’s breakout season came last year, when the left-handed-hitting outfielder slashed .300/.418/.460 over 38 games and 33 starts with two homers, 18 RBIs and four steals. Maxwell, who eclipsed 100 career hits during the 2024 season, holds a career .295/.422/.427 slash line over his three seasons with the Horned Frog baseball team.
