Angel Reese isn’t the only big name player leaving Kim Mulkey’s LSU Tigers this month. A while ago, LSU star Hailey van Lith entered the NCAA transfer portal. Now she’s found a new home.
According to women’s college hoops insider Talia Goodman, van Lith has decided to join the TCU Horned Frogs. TCU went 21-12 in the 2023-24 season, bowing out in the second round of the WBIT.
“BREAKING: LSU transfer Hailey van Lith is headed to TCU, a source tells @TheNextHoops . She averaged 11.6 ppg and 3.6 apg last season,” Goodman wrote on X.
Van Lith joined the Tigers for her senior season after spending her first three years with the Louisville Cardinals. While she was in Louisville, van Lith started over 100 games and averaged 15.4 points per game. She was a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection during her time there.
In her four seasons of college basketball, van Lith has never missed a trip to the Elite Eight. She went there twice with the Cardinals and once with the Tigers, while also reaching the Final Four with the Cardinals in 2022.
Fans are certainly looking forward to seeing what van Lith can do for TCU. The move teams her up with Haley Cavinder and could have the makings of a real force in the Big 12 next year:
“This is a great pickup for us! Definitely needed someone who can create their own offense and control the game for us (if needed) Sedona, HVL and Cavinder should be really nice for us once the chemistry clicks!” one user remarked.
“Hailey Van Lith and Haley Cavinder teaming up together at TCU!” another excitedly wrote.
“Cavinder and HVL ???? Put the season tickets on sale already,” wrote a third.
Will TCU become a major player in college basketball next year?
