The two-time NWSL Champion and 4-time All-Big 12 Horned Frog gets called up to the training camp roster for upcoming fall friendlies
The US Women’s National Team is the literal gold standard of international soccer, having won four World Cups, 11 CONCACAF Gold Cups, and five Olympic Gold Medals, including in the 2024 Paris Summer Games. The USWNT named its roster for the upcoming fall FIFA international window, where the squad will hit the pitch together for the first time since that Gold Medal victory. Joining the National Team for the first time in her career is former TCU standout Yazmeen Ryan who currently plays professionally for Gotham FC in the NWSL.

While this will be Ryan’s first call-up to the senior National Team, she has previously represented the United States with the U18 and U23 national teams during her time at TCU. A member of the Horned Frogs from 2017-2021. Ryan was an All-Big 12 selection all four seasons, earning All-American honors as a senior. Playing in over 6,200 minutes as a Horned Frog, Ryan contributed 23 goals and another 23 assists, reaching the NCAA Tournament all four years and leading TCU to a Big 12 Title and Elite Eight in 2020-21. Drafted 6th overall by the Portland Thorns in the 2021 NWSL Draft where she would help the Thorns win the 2022 Championship. Ryan would be traded to Gotham FC ahead of the 2023 season, where she would again win the NWSL Championship that season. Through her four professional seasons, Ryan has accumulated nine goals and 10 assists in 84 games played.
USA will have a series of friendlies this month facing Iceland on October 24 in Austin, TX and again in Nashville, TN on October 27 before playing Argentina on October 30.

“A huge day for our program! We are so proud of Yazmeen.
It goes to show that we do have the pieces in place that can help players become pros and national team players.” @CoachEricBell #GoFrogs | #ProFrogs pic.twitter.com/ndtW302sON
