Men’s Tennis and Men’s Golf had strong finishes to their seasons too.
Men’s Golf
Big 12 Champion Gustav Frimodt competed in the NCAA Austin Regional as an individual at the University of Texas Golf Club. The senior had a strong showing in the third NCAA regional appearance of his career finishing in a tie for 20th at one over-par. Frimodt had a very strong first two rounds shooting a two-under-par 69 on each of the first two days.
TCU Men’s Golf competed in the National Golf Invitational on May 17th-19th in Maricopa, Arizona at Ark-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club. The Frogs had a great tournament, shooting 22-under-par as a team which was good for second place out of a field of 10 teams. Jack Beauchamp was the top individual finisher for the Frogs at 11-under-par which landed him in third place individually. Beauchamp had a very good first round, shooting a five-under-par 67 to start the tournament strong. Toby Wilt joined Beauchamp in the top ten, finishing in a tie for ninth place thanks to a strong score of five-under-par through three rounds. Wilt played a consistent three rounds shooting two-under in his first two rounds and one-under in the final round. Andrew Petruzzelli finished a stroke behind Wilt and in a tie for 11th place individually thanks to a very good second round where he shot four-under-par. Ethan Dial made it four Frogs in the top 20 as he landed in a tie for 17th thanks to a two-under-par score in the tournament.

This wraps up a strong season for TCU Men’s Golf with a representative making it to the NCAA regionals and a strong performance in the postseason.
Track and Field
TCU Outdoor Track and Field traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the NCAA West Regional last week and eight Frogs punched their tickets to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon taking place next week. The first two to earn a spot in the NCAA Championships were Maria Bienvenu and Irene Jepkemboi who both had great performances in the javelin throw. Bienvenu earned a fifth-place finish with a throw of 54.06 meters while Jepkemboi landed in seventh place thanks to a throw of 53.43 meters. Kashie Crockett was the next Frog to earn an invite to nationals with a great time in the 200-meter sprint of 20.47 that landed him in 11th place overall. Gracie Morris won her heat to advance to the national championships in the 1500 meter thanks to a great time of 4:17.23. The women’s 4×100 team of Teanna Harlin, Mikayla Hayes, Dreunna Washington, and Iyana Gray earned a ticket to the national championships with a second-place finish in their heat thanks to a strong time of 43.47. Gray also qualified for the national championships in the 100-meter and the 200-meter with great times of 11.01 and 22.56 to finish in fifth and sixth place respectively. Harlin also earned a spot in the 200-meter championship with a very good time of 22.82 landing her in second place in her heat.

The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will take place from June 5th through the 8th in Eugene, Oregon.
Men’s Tennis
The National Champion TCU Men’s Tennis team had two singles players and one doubles pairing compete as individuals at the NCAA National Championships and all four Frogs made it to the round of 16. Jake Fearnley took down Finlay Murgett of Auburn in the round of 32 in three sets with a final score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Fearnley battled back in the round of 16 after losing the first set to take the second set but ultimately fell to Michael Zheng of Columbia by a final score of 2-6, 6-3, 4-6.
The NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player Award winner Jack Pinnington advanced to the round of 16 with a straight sets win over Nikola Slavic from Ole Miss with a final score of 6-4, 6-2. Pinnington fell to the number eight ranked tennis player in the country by ITA in Ozan Baris from Michigan State by a score of 1-6, 6-7.

Sebastian Gorzny and Pedro Vives advanced to the round of 16 with a straight sets win over Alemany and Barry from Memphis by a score of 6-2, 7-6. The Frogs unfortunately lost in the next round to Jovanovic and Martinez from Mississippi State by a score of 4-6, 5-7.

This officially wraps up an incredibly successful season for TCU Men’s Tennis who finished as the runner up in indoors and as the National Champion in NCAA Outdoor Tennis for the first time in program history.
