The Horned Frogs shoot under 34 percent from the field and drop to 4-3 on the season.
It’s been a less-than-ideal start for the TCU men’s basketball team, which dropped another game at the Acrisure Invitational on Friday evening. After falling against Santa Clara, TCU went to overtime before suffering a 76-72 loss against Colorado State on Friday, shooting just 33.9 percent from the field in the process. Things won’t get easier either, as the Horned Frogs (4-3, 0-0 Big 12) will host No. 22 Xavier in the Big 12/Big East Battle on Dec. 5. Frankie Collins led the Horned Frogs on Friday evening, scoring a season-high 18 points with eight rebounds. Collins added five assists and five steals in the loss against the Rams.

TCU trailed by as many as eight points in the second half, but the Horned Frogs worked their way into a three-point lead with about a minute left in regulation time. Colorado State managed to force an overtime period, where TCU scored just six points. Free-throw woes continued to plague the Horned Frogs, who earned 30 attempts and made only 21 while the Rams went 10-for-12. Noah Reynolds finished with 12 points and four rebounds, while Ernest Udeh Jr. totaled six points, five rebounds and a team-leading four blocks on defense.

Freshman forward/center David Punch gave the Horned Frogs a boost off the bench, scoring seven points and grabbing six rebounds in 14 minutes. Tra White collected 10 points and four rebounds, while Vasean Allette scored seven points on 3-of-8 shooting off the bench. TCU went cold from 3-point range in the second half, going 2-for-10 after making 7-of-12 in the first half. The Horned Frogs were also held to 10 fast break points.
