The No. 1 JUCO talent in the nation chooses the Horned Frogs over Oregon and USC.
The 2024-25 TCU men’s basketball season tipped off this past week, with the Horned Frogs moving to 2-0 after home victories against Florida A&M and Florida Gulf Coast. TCU made even more news on Sunday, with JUCO recruit Xavier Edmonds, the No. 1 prospect at the JUCO level for the 2025 cycle, announcing his commitment to the Horned Frogs on social media. Edmonds, who chose TCU over Oregon and USC and held several more offers, becomes the second recruit in the 2025 class for the Horned Frogs, who received a pledge from four-star Duncanville shooting guard Kayden “Bugg” Edwards back in September.

Edmonds, who’s currently a sophomore, turned in a stellar freshman season last winter, averaging 14.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the field over 32 games. Edmonds revealed on Oct. 16 that TCU, Oregon and USC were his top three schools. The Long Beach, California native had also scheduled visits with Nebraska, Georgia and Oklahoma over the previous few months. Edmonds was a three-star prospect out of Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance, California before beginning his collegiate career with Salt Lake CC at the JUCO level.
