ABOUT THE GAME

• TCU begins its 13th season of Big 12 Conference play when it hosts UCF on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on FOX.
• The Horned Frogs are 2-0 for the first time since 2022, when they reached the College Football Playoff National Championship.
• This will be the first meeting on the gridiron between the Horned Frogs and Knights. 4TCU is playing 11 Power Four Conference opponents this season.
• The Horned Frogs are facing a team from the state of Florida for the first time since a 45-10 loss at Miami in 1992. 4TCU is 5-7 all-time against teams from the Sunshine State, going 2-1 against Florida State and 3-6 versus the Hurricanes.
• The Horned Frogs are 11-3 in home games under Head Coach Sonny Dykes.
• Dykes is 1-1 as a head coach versus UCF with both meetings coming during his time at SMU. Dykes was part of a 55-28 win in Dallas in 2021 with a 48-20 loss in Orlando in 2018, his first season with the Mustangs.
• It has taken Dykes just 29 games to reach 20 wins at TCU. Only Francis A. Schmidt (24, 1929- 30) and two-time national championship head coach Dutch Meyer (25, 1934-35) reached the mark quicker.

• Under first-year Defensive Coordinator Andy Avalos, the Horned Frogs recorded their first shutout since 2017 with a 45-0 win over LIU.
• The 127 yards of total offense by LIU were the fewest allowed by TCU since holding Grambling State to 80 yards in the 2012 season opener.
• Josh Hoover’s 14 consecutive completions tied a TCU single-game record set by Jeff Ballard against San Diego State in 2006.
• Hoover’s 14 straight completions also tied for second overall at TCU, behind only the 16 in a row by Casey Pachall over the 2011-12 seasons.
• Cam Cook ran for three touchdowns and has a team-high four rushing scores in two games.
• Namdi Obiazor’s 1.5 tackles for loss gave him a TCU-best 4.0 on the season.
• TCU’s student attendance of 6,153 for the LIU game was the fourth largest in school history and nearly 50 percent of its total enrollment.
