HORNED FROGS TO WATCH
- Quarterback Josh Hoover ranks fifth in the FBS in passing yards (2,614) while tying for fifth with 37 completions of at least 20 yards.
- Hoover is tied for eighth nationally with 19 touchdown passes. He had three against Texas Tech, including two in the fourth quarter as the Horned Frogs rallied from a 17-point second-half deficit for a 35-34 win.
- Wide receiver Jack Bech ranks among the FBS leaders in receiving yards (7th, 825) and touchdown catches (T-11th, 7).
- Bech’s 13 receptions of at least 20 yards tie for eighth in the FBS.
- Eric McAlister leads the nation in yards per catch at 24.4 on his 19 receptions. His 84-yard touchdown with 5:10 to play provided the goahead score in the 35-34 win versus Texas Tech.
- Wide receiver Savion Williams has led TCU in rushing in each of the last two games with 72 yards against both Utah and Texas Tech.
- Edge Devean Deal and nose tackle Markis Deal are one of only four sets of brothers to start on defense for an FBS school this season.
BLUEBONNET BATTLE
- Last fall, student government leaders at both TCU and Baylor established the Bluebonnet Battle as the name of the annual rivalry football game between the schools and the creation of a trophy for the winner.
- TCU and Baylor are one of just four protected annual games in the Big 12 scheduling matrix.
SERIES HISTORY
- TCU has a 59-53-7 series lead over Baylor.
- With 119 games played, TCU has faced Baylor more than any opponent in its history.
- The Horned Frogs are 30-24-1 on the road against the Bears and 29-29-4 at home. Both neutral-site meetings saw the teams play to a tie.
FORMER CROSSTOWN RIVALS
- After being founded in 1873 in Thorp Spring, Texas, as AddRan Male and Female College, TCU’s campus moved to Waco in 1895.
- The name was changed to AddRan Christian University in 1889 and Texas Christian University in 1902.
- TCU relocated to downtown Fort Worth in 1910 when the Waco facility burned down. The University then opened three new buildings on its present campus in 1911.
BAZOOKA
- TCU last trip to Waco, in 2022, provided one of college football’s most memorable games and moments of the season.
- With the final seconds ticking away, TCU’s field goal unit ran on the field with Griffin Kell kicking a 40-yard field goal as time expired for a 29-28 win to keep the Horned Frogs undefeated at 11-0.
- TCU’s play call for such a moment is Bazooka
