How do TCU Fans feel after beating the Utes?

After a long week coming off of the Bye, many TCU fans were excited to see the team play. There was a movement of fans that decided that TCU would win out, and go 9-3 on the season.

The ‘9-3’ movement had a ton of TCU ‘burners’ making memes in favor. Our own Frogs O’ War page got in on the action as well…

Defense

As for the actual game, most fans felt good about the improvements that the defense made over the Bye Week. The defense looked well prepared and were flying around the field.

Offense

The offense did not seem to use the bye as effectively as the defense.

Some fans are not happy with the offensive play calling and the Offensive Coordinator, Kendall Briles. The offense only put up 13 points on Saturday Night’s game, but Utah was one of the better defenses TCU has faced.

Josh Hoover struggled against Utah, especially in the second half. Fans believe that Trent Battle was one of the bright spots of the offense. This was Battle’s first game back from a preseason injury.

Battle was well involved in the run game as well as pass blocking. Battle averaged 5.6 yards per carry during this game.

In an effort to get their play makers the ball, the TCU offense ran the ‘wild frog’ formation with Savion Williams 7 times.

TCU fans were surprised at how well Savion ran the ball. He did well this the carries that he got, averaging 7.3 yards per carry. The TCU offense even relied on Savion to convert the game sealing 4th and 2 on a direct snap.

Overall, despite the win, this was a frustrating watch for TCU fans.

This fan stated that Saturday night’s game reminded him of the 2018 Cheez-It Bowl. While it may not have been as chaotic, the Utah game did have its moments. However, at the end of the Frogs added a tally to the win column on the road.
