How do fans feel after beating Stanford week 1?
For this week’s social media recap, I looked at Twitter (or X), Instagram, and Facebook to get a true feel for how fans felt. After scrolling through social media after the game, I found a few common thoughts on the Frogs’ performance Friday night. Here is what fans had to say…
Discipline and Execution
Across all major social media apps, fans felt that there was a lack of discipline and execution Friday night. This was especially evident in the game’s opening drive, where on several occasions the TCU defense bailed out the Stanford offense with penalties.
3 stops, 3 undisciplined penalties. Great

The slew of penalties, along with the two fumbles in the first half left fans particularly frustrated. There were also some significant drops by receivers down the stretch. Overall, the execution and discipline of the Frogs concerns fans.
Move forward. This was sloppy and frustrating, but this team has an opportunity to win like 11 games I can feel it.
This group of talent was flying around tonight and I’m excited to see what’s in store.

Despite this, many fans look forward to the rest of the season and believe that the team can be competitive in the Big 12. Many comments on both Facebook and Instagram shared the same sentiment.
Defense
Many fans are excited for the defense and how they will perform this season. Despite the penalties, the defense had some great moments. Last week, I shared that many fans want to see the defense generate more pressure on the Quarterback. Frog faithful got what they wished for. The defense had 4 sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Even former TCU safety, Mark Perry, who signed to the Houston Texans’ practice squad, was happy to see the defense get pressure.

Many fans on facebook were happy to see the aggression of the defense and look forward to seeing the units improvement down the line.
Jack Bech
Fans on all platforms were surprised by Bech’s breakout performance against Stanford. Bech led TCU receivers in yards, with 139 and 1 touch down. Bech also had more total yards, `146, then he did during the entire 2023 season. Some fans even went as far to call Bech the best receiver on the team.
So Bech is our best WR huh

Lastly, fans from several fan bases loved the return of the TCU Football Creative Department’s crazy mp4 videos.
