How are Horned Frog fans feeling after watching the team’s victory over the Jayhawks?
Winning cures all. With the Frogs beating the Jayhawks in Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, social media was much more positive than the last few weeks.
Second Half Adjustments
The first half of the game was frustrating. TCU turned the ball over, and the offense still could not establish the run. Additionally, the defense could not stop the Jayhawk’s rushing attack. Despite this, TCU was up at the half. During the second TCU made adjustments, and both the run game and run defense started improving.
Fans across all social media platforms were happy to see the adjustments and the improvement.
JEREMY PAYNE WAS THE SPARK
— TCU Scouting (@TcuScouting) September 28, 2024
Jeremy Payne looked earned a more significant role in the TCU offense. He had TCU’s first carry of over 20 yards for the 2024 season. It seemed like once Payne got it going, the run blocking started to gel together.
Turn Overs
The turn overs from the SMU game bled into the game Saturday. In TCU’s opening drive, Cam Cook fumbled the ball. Josh Hoover also threw 2 interceptions.
Unlike last week, the Frogs were able to recover and win the game.
Standouts
The Jack Bech hype train is continuing to gain steam on TCU social media.
JACK BECH BILETNIKOFF SZN
— Horned Frog Larry (@HFLarry69) September 28, 2024
This fan calls for Bech to be in the Biletnikoff Award conversation. This award goes to the nation’s top wide receiver every year. Bech’s 647 yards through 5 games puts him at second in the country, which should make him a front runner for the award if he continues his on field success.
Fans are also pleased with the play of Josh Hoover.
Despite the turn overs, Hoover still had a decent game with 256 yards and 3 passing touch downs. Week in and week out, Hoover continues to put up huge passing yard numbers. He is third in the country in passing yards, with 1,774.
Overall, fans are have a more positive outlook than they did a week ago.
I’d be feeling a lot better about the season if we didn’t choke away the UCF game. SMU might actually be good
— Superfrog’s Burner (@SuperFrogBurner) September 29, 2024
With SMU’s win against Florida State, they moved to 4-1, and are looking like they can compete for the ACC. The loss to SMU might not age as bad as Horned Frog fans previously thought.
I hope to see fans continue to rally around the team like this one fan from Facebook.
Fear the Frog?
One fan made the observation that TCU is undefeated when the Athletic Frog logo appears on the team’s helmets. In both the loss to UCF and SMU, TCU did not wear a Frog on their helmets.

This TCU fan shows the historic stats of TCU wearing the Frog versus not wearing the Frog. Maybe TCU’s opponents truly should fear the frog.
