What do fans have to say about Friday’s defeat?
Nothing went right for the Frogs Friday night against Houston. It was an extremely frustrating loss against a bottom tier Big 12 school, and social media reflects it. The overall sentiment on all forms of social media are the lowest I’ve ever seen it as a TCU fan.
Coaching
It seems that most, if not all, TCU fans on social media are out on the current coaching staff. Fans are frustrated because the team makes the same mistakes game in and game out.
Many Frog Faithful are tired of the team looking unprepared and starting the game out with a lack of energy or urgency. This particular fan stated that TCU being “out coached”.
Does Sonny make it through the weekend?

I think defeated is a good word to sum up the feelings of TCU social media. Sonny Dykes’ post game press conference further rubs salt in the wound for most TCU fans.
It’s just exhausting to have your Head Coach constantly come to a losing press conference “at a loss of words” regarding the loss. He really has no idea what he wants this team to be or how to get there. https://t.co/NS0feWTY3U

Many fans think that Dykes sounds like a broken record, and want to see him take accountability.
I’ve never seen him give an answer and rarely see him take accountability https://t.co/0ZrZ4ekD3B

In summary, TCU Fans are not happy with the current coaching regime and want to see drastic change as soon as possible.
FWIW anything negative I say about TCU Football does not reflect my opinion of the players. I will support any player that wears purple every Saturday. #GoFrogs

This particular fan stated that anything negative said about the team does not reflect their opinion of the players or their support of them. Many TCU fans agreed with this sentiment. I believe this idea of continued support for the players coincides with this fan’s opinion on the team culture.
Culture is top down. He needs to look in the McDonald’s mirror at his next job.

Culture begins and is established with the head coach. Fans agree, that there are many issues with the program, starting at the top.
Cam Cook
On a brighter note, Cam Cook showed improvement during the game against Houston.
The only positive tonight has been Cam Cook. Very surprising
— Superfrog’s Burner (@SuperFrogBurner) October 5, 2024
Cook averaged 5.5 yards per carry after previously averaging only 3.81 throughout the season. Some fans were happy to see Cam improve this week. Hopefully he continues to show growth and can help the TCU Offense establish more of a run game.
