How do fans feel after the devastating loss to UCF?
Saturday night’s game was a tale of two halves, and so was TCU Social Media. This was the case over all major Social Media platforms, Twitter (X), Instagram, and Facebook. Prior to the game, TCU and UCF Twitter accounts went back and forth all week, beginning on Monday.
First Half
Fans were very excited, and rightfully so after the first half of the game.
Give Savion the Biletnikoff

The first half was great for the Frogs. Savion looked like a beast, and the offense was flowing. Additionally, the defense was holding the UCF offense at bay.

The Special Teams unit was also dominating. TCU got their second blocked field goal of the night seconds before the half, to remain up 21-7. At the half, Frog fans on social media were ready for a huge win.
Second Half
The TCU offense carried over some momentum from the first half, scoring on a quick drive to go up 28-7. After this, it seemed like nothing could go right for Frogs.
In an effort to keep this series light hearted, I am not going to be sharing the super negative comments that were present on all three major platforms. Instead, I will briefly summarize fans’ main frustrations from the game.
Obviously it is frustrating to see your team to lose, despite being up by 3 touch downs in the second half. Many fans were disappointed with the defense’s ability to stop the run, especially when it felt like everyone in the building knew they were going to run the ball. Fans were also not happy with the offense’s run game and play calling. A majority of Frog faithful felt that we did not take enough time off the clock during our drives due to the lack of running the ball. The general consensus was that we relied too heavily on Hoover’s arm Saturday night.
One of the more frustrating moments, was the false start at the one yard line.
I cannot believe we blew 31-13 at home lmfao. I knew we were in trouble after that false start at the one yard line. Could have put it away.
I love Josh Hoover
Congrats to the Knights
I am hungover

This particular fan felt like if TCU finished off that drive, the Frogs would have won. Many others agree that settling for a field goal on that drive, was a major turning point of the game.
On a positive note, Josh Hoover was one bright spot during last night’s game. Hoover threw for 402 yards, 4 touch downs, and zero interceptions.
The one criticism of Josh Hoover last season was that he needed to limit the turnovers. He has definitely done that. Crazy he is only a sophomore with numbers like this pic.twitter.com/VI9q3BUKhw

I think this fan sums it up quite nicely. Last season, Hoover threw 9 interceptions in only 8 appearances. This year Josh is 3rd in the country for passing yards, and hasn’t thrown a single pick. One of the criticisms from last year was that he needed to take care of the ball and limit interceptions. He has certainly done that so far this season, and I know all Frog fans are excited to see him play in a purple jersey for the next couple seasons.
Next Week
Next week, TCU plays SMU in Dallas for the 103rd Iron Skillet Rivalry game.
