The Horned Frog point guard has been in the G League since 2023.
Former TCU point guard Damion Baugh will have another shot to earn an NBA role after reportedly signing a two-way contract with the Charlotte Hornets. Baugh has been in the G League since 2023 and currently averages 12.9 points, 7.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds for the 2024-25 season. The former Horned Frog has appeared in 18 games with 16 starts as a member of the Westchester Knicks after beginning his G League career with the South Bay Lakers. Two-way contracts allow for players to be transferred between an NBA team and its G League affiliate. Charlotte’s current G League affiliate is the Greensboro Swarm.

Baugh’s NBA career began in 2023, when he was signed to an Exhibit 10 deal by the Los Angeles Lakers after going undrafted. Baugh’s 2023-24 season was spent with the South Bay Lakers, appearing in 24 games with 10 starts and posting averages of 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. After one season with the Lakers organization, Baugh signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the New York Knicks last October and made his way to the Westchester Knicks, where he averaged 35.2 minutes per game as a starting guard.

Two-way contracts allow for players to split their seasons between the NBA and the G League. Two-way contracts are also different from Exhibit 10 deals, which are one-year contracts that can be converted into two-way contracts if the player isn’t waived. While Exhibit 10 deals are more for bringing in players to compete for roster spots during the Summer League and the offseason, two-way contracts allow for young players to be developed on an NBA roster. TCU now has four active players in the NBA. Emanuel Miller signed a two-way deal with the Chicago Bulls in December, while Kenrich Williams (OKC Thunder) and Desmond Bane (Memphis Grizzlies) are full-time players.
