The former Arkansas running back will depart Fort Worth after one season
TCU running back Dominique Johnson announced his entry into the transfer portal on Monday, departing the program after one season. Johnson joined the Horned Frogs ahead of the 2024 season following four years with the Arkansas Razorbacks where he had a breakout sophomore campaign in 2021, scoring eight touchdowns and gaining 646 scrimmage yards. During his one season with the Horned Frogs, Johnson played in all 12 games, taking 18 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound bruising back was a three-star prospect out of nearby Crowley High School in the Class of 2020. Johnson is the 11th player from the 2024 TCU squad to enter the transfer portal and the fourth from the offense. The Horned Frogs still have significant depth in the running back room, including talented young players like Cam Cook and Jeremy Payne with veterans like Trent Battle. TCU has also been reportedly in pursuit of additional veteran ball-carriers from the transfer portal including Bowling Green’s Terion Stewart and UTSA’s Kevorian Barnes.
