The San Diego State transfer was expected to compete for a starting role this season
A week into fall camp and TCU Football has confirmed a significant injury loss to the offensive line as San Diego State transfer guard Cade Bennett required season-ending back surgery.
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

Bennett earned All-Mountain West honors the last two seasons with the Aztecs before joining the Horned Frogs this offseason. Expected to be a key member of the rebuilt offensive line this season, Bennett will use a medical redshirt and retain two years of eligibility, looking to return for the Horned Frogs in 2025. TCU will now look to fellow inbound transfers James Brockermeyer, Remington Strickland, and Carson Bruno, along with returning offensive linemen such as Coltin Deery to fill the void on the interior OL.
