Cooks Jr. transferred to TCU after spending the 2021 season at Texas, where he appeared in one game. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound junior from Pearland, Texas was a two-time All-District honoree at Shadow Creek, where he became one of the top linebacker recruits in the nation before going to Texas. His father, Terrance Cooks Sr., played collegiate football at Nicholls State before suiting up for the New England Patriots. Cooks Jr. is the third TCU player to hit the portal, following linebacker Shad Banks Jr. and offensive tackle Marcus Williams.
