He held multiple FBS offers out of high school, including Army & Air Force, before deciding to stay local with Missouri State. Retaining his redshirt status as a true freshman in 2023 before his breakout campaign in 2024 where he made 51 tackles, 7 for loss with one sack and two fumble recoveries, returning one for a touchdown.

A popular target in the transfer portal, Teason earned offers from across FBS, with the Horned Frogs beating out Virginia Tech, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Syracuse, and Rutgers among others. Teason joins fellow FCS transfer, ACU offensive lineman Dylan Kinney as additions to the Horned Frogs roster from the spring portal. He enters a linebacker group in Fort Worth that features established veterans Namdi Obiazor and Kaleb Elarms-Orr.
