Former TCU tight end Geor’quarius Spivey will have an opportunity to compete for an NFL roster spot after reportedly receiving a rookie minicamp invitation from the New York Giants. Spivey spent two seasons with the Horned Frogs, recording 11 receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown during the 2022 campaign, when TCU reached the College Football Playoff National Championship. Spivey, who began his career with Mississippi State, transferred back to Starkville for the 2023 season, but was ruled ineligible.

The Giants will be looking to fill a hole at the tight end position, as veteran tight end Darren Waller will reportedly be walking away from football after eight seasons. Spivey played four collegiate seasons, two of which came at Mississippi State from 2019-20. The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder from Monroe, Louisiana then transferred to TCU, where he played from 2021-22.
