
The Horned Frogs make a spring addition, signing a sophomore safety from Denton, Texas.
Former California and LSU defensive back Ryan Yaites has signed with TCU after multiple reports broke Monday evening that the sophomore from Denton, Texas finalizing his commitment to the Horned Frogs. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder and former four-star high school recruit started his career at LSU, where he appeared in 13 games and totaled 16 tackles including nine solo stops as a freshman in 2023. Yaites transferred to Cal and played in seven games for the Golden Bears, recording 16 total tackles and nine solo stops in 2024.

The news of Yaites signing with TCU comes only a few days after JUCO recruit Kollin Collier announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Saturday. Yaites played his high school football at Denton Guyer, where he became a four-star prospect and received offers from nearly two dozen Power 4 programs including TCU. Yaites becomes the 12th incoming transfer and the second safety of the 2025 class for the Horned Frogs, who currently have the No. 32 ranked overall class (enrollees, signings and transfers) according to 247Sports.
