The defensive back from Missouri City, Texas flips his commitment from Texas Tech.
Hours before the TCU football team kicks off its home contest against Oklahoma State, three-star cornerback Gil Jackson flipped his commitment from Texas Tech to the Horned Frogs, with the decision being shared to social media early Saturday evening. Jackson is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound cornerback from Missouri City, Texas who plays for Ridge Point High School. Jackson had been committed to the Red Raiders since the summer.

Jackson, who holds 19 offers, becomes the 25th overall recruit and the second cornerback in the 2025 class for the Horned Frogs, who currently hold the No. 23 ranked class in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite ratings system. TCU currently owns the No. 1 ranked recruiting class, with Baylor sitting in second and Kansas State landing in third. Jackson’s 2023 season, his junior season, included 12 tackles, three interceptions and six pass breakups. One of those three interceptions was returned for a touchdown.
