The Horned Frogs gain a talented JUCO prospect from Mississippi.
TCU football’s loaded 2025 recruiting class became even stronger on Monday, when JUCO defensive lineman Kelten Mickell announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs after an official visit over the weekend. Mickell is a four-star recruit under Rivals and a three-star recruit under the 247Sports composite ratings system. The 6-foot-2, 295-pound defensive lineman chose the Horned Frogs over Kansas State and South Carolina.

Mickell becomes the 26th recruit in the 2025 class for the Horned Frogs, who are now ranked 23rd in the nation under the 247Sports ratings system. Mickell is currently at Jones College, where he totaled 32 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble to earn MACCC South Defensive Player of the Year honors at the JUCO level this season. Mickell, who’s currently a sophomore, recorded 34 tackles, three tackles for loss and one sack to earn First-Team All-MACCC honors during the 2023 season.
