Horned Frogs pick up third JUCO addition of the week
TCU Football continues its feast of JUCO prospects during Thanksgiving week, earning commitment from Long Beach City College cornerback Jonah Martinez, as announced on social media Wednesday night. Martinez is the third JUCO play to commit to the Horned Frogs this week, all on the defensive side of the ball, joining D-Linemen Kelton Mickell & Perry Cole. Martinez chose the Horned Frogs over offers from West Virginia, Arizona, and San Diego State.

The 6-foot-1, 180 pound defensive back becomes the 28th member of the Horned Frogs 2025 recruiting class which is currently ranked 22nd nationally and first in the Big 12 per 247Sports. Martinez becomes the third cornerback of the class, joining high school commits Gil Jackson and Micah Strickland, entering a senior-laden TCU secondary with potential opportunity for early contributions. Martinez snagged four interceptions this season and has 35 career tackles in his two seasons at LBCC.
The Horned Frogs have previously found success with JUCO cornerbacks from California with All-American, First Round NFL Draft Pick, NFL Pro Bowler Jason Verrett being a product of Santa Rosa Junior College.
