The Horned Frogs give their talented 2025 class a significant talent boost.
TCU football didn’t play a game this weekend, but the Horned Frogs made headlines with a huge recruiting move, earning a commitment from four-star wide receiver Terry Shelton. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder from Irving, Texas was previously committed to Arizona before backing out and sharing his pledge to TCU on social media Sunday afternoon. Shelton, who plays for Ranchview High School, visited five schools over the summer including TCU, Arizona, Boston College, Illinois and Kansas. Shelton becomes the top-ranked recruit in the 2025 class for the Horned Frogs, whose class now ranks 20th nationally by 247Sports.

Shelton finished his junior season with 32 receptions for 629 yards and eight touchdowns. The four-star prospect ended his sophomore season with 16 catches for 141 yards and four touchdowns. Shelton is a three-sport athlete who has over 1,000 career point and 800 career rebounds in basketball in addition to a 200-meter dash time of 23.00 seconds in track and field. Shelton is the sixth four-star recruit in the 2025 class (according to 247 Sports) for the Horned Frogs, joining EDGE rushers Jared Martin and Chad Woodfork as well as quarterback Adam Schobel, cornerback Micah Strickland and wide receiver Ed Small.
