Gary Patterson still wants to be a head coach at the collegiate level.
He made that known during an appearance on the “Matt Mosley Show” on Tuesday.
“I still have a lot of ballgames left in me,” Patterson said, (first transcribed by 247Sports). “If I ever get a to a place, everything in place you’d have a chance to play in the playoffs and win a national championship, I’m gonna keep my eyes open. took great notes when I was on Texas. With Sark being in the NFL and being with Coach Saban, I went down there to learn along with give.”
Patterson coached at TCU from 2001-21 before he resigned. He was asked to finish the 2021 season but declined, leading to his departure.
He finished his tenure at the school with an 181-79 record.
After he left TCU, he joined Texas as a special assistant before stepping away back in March.
We’ll have to see if he’s interested in any of the openings this offseason.
