A First Team All-Mountain West Conference selection in 2005 & 2006, Herb Taylor was a mainstay along the Horned Frogs offensive line through the early 2000s. A three-star prospect in the Class of 2002 out of Fort Bend Hightower, Taylor started every game of his Horned Frogs career, winning the Mountain West Conference in TCU’s first season in the league.
After his standout career at TCU, Taylor was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the Sixth Round of the 2007 NFL Draft where he’d play for two years. Taylor was on the Green Bay Packers roster, winning the 2011 Super Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. He also played in the NFL with the Giants and Jaguars. Taylor’s professional career also included a season in the UFL with the Las Vegas Locomotives, winning the UFL Championship in 2010. After his pro career, Taylor began his entrepreneurial BBQ pit master career, as owner of Ray’s Real Pit BBQ Shack in Houston.
