A two-time All American, lineman Don Floyd helped the Horned Frogs to two SWC Titles

The Horned Frogs of the late 1950s became a defensive force, outscoring opponents 387 to 153, winning two Southwest Conference championships and two Top Ten finishes in AP Poll. Don Floyd paired with Bob Lilly to form an all-time force up front for TCU Football. Playing on the offensive line in addition to his primary role as a defensive tackle, Floyd was twice named First Team All-SWC and twice earned All-American honors, including consensus First Team Al-American in 1959.
The Midlothian, TX native was not just a Horned Frog Hall of Famer, he was named to the Houston Oilers All-Time team as well. Drafted in the Second Round of both the NFL Draft (Baltimore Colts) and the AFL Draft (Houston Oilers), Floyd chose to stay in Texas and join the Oilers. He made the AFL All Star team in 1961 & 1962, earning First Team All-AFL honors both seasons, helping the Oilers win the AFL Championship in 1960 and 1961.
