There were so many pieces of the TCU 2022 puzzle that fit just right to make that squad create a magical season, one of the most critical pieces that made the whole machine work was Center Alan Ali. After five seasons at SMU, including Second Team All-American Athletic Conference recognition in 2021, Ali made his way to Fort Worth with Sonny Dykes to join the Horned Frogs in 2022. He was instantly inserted into the starting Center role which created a huge downstream boost all along the offensive line as it allowed Steve Avila to move to his more natural Guard position where he became a consensus All-American. Starting all 15 games at Center for TCU’s run to the National Championship, Ali would earn First Team All-Big 12 before being signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft.
