James McFarland earned 2014 Peach Bowl Defensive MVP with an end zone interception

Another in a series of iconic plays in TCU history, defensive lineman James McFarland’s second quarter interception of Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace in the end zone was the early nail in the Rebels’ coffin as the Horned Frogs dominated in a 42-3 romp in the 2014 Peach Bowl. McFarland would earn Defensive Player of the Game with four tackles including two for loss and a sack, showing the much hyped “Land Shark” Mississippi squad how an actual elite defense looks.
McFarland played in every game during his four active seasons in Fort Worth, including three bowl games. The West Monroe, Louisiana product contributed 99 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 10 pass break-ups, three forced fumble, that Peach Bowl pick-six, and one of my favorite random TCU photos:
