Arriving at TCU as a defensive back prospect after two seasons of Juco ball at Iowa Western, Namdi Obiazor played in all 15 games of the 2022 season at safety. As the Horned Frogs were making the run to the National Championship game, Obiazor contributed 49 total tackles, including seven stops each in wins over Oklahoma State, Kansas State, and Texas Tech.
in 2023, Obiazor was tasked with stepping down from the secondary into a linebacker role, bulking up to 225 pounds. The Eden Prairie, Minnesota native flourished in the role, earning Honorable Mention Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, leading the Horned Frogs in tackling with 84 stops and four sacks.
Representing TCU at Big 12 Media Days ahead of the 2024 season, Obiazor is expected to be one of the key contributors to a defense that needs to be much improved for the Horned Frogs to reach its ceiling.
