The senior right-hander spent his last two collegiate seasons with the Horned Frogs.
TCU baseball saw four players (all pitchers) selected in the 2024 MLB Draft earlier this week. The Horned Frogs haven’t stopped making moves, however, with right-hander Hunter Hodges signing a contract with the New York Mets as an undrafted free agent. Hodges takes a similar route to former TCU right-hander Luke Savage, who signed with the Texas Rangers after being undrafted last offseason. Hodges spent two seasons with the Horned Frogs, posting a 1.86 ERA with 33 strikeouts and 13 walks over 19.1 innings in 2024.

Hodges was nearly unhittable throughout his 18 appearances during the 2024 season, holding opposing batters to a .124 average. The former UNC-Wilmington transfer made his debut with the Horned Frogs in 2023, where he recorded a 2.57 ERA with 14 strikeouts and nine walks over 14 innings pitched. Hodges began his collegiate career at UNC-Wilmington, going 5-5 with a 4.25 ERA as well as 103 strikeouts over 69.2 innings pitched. Hodges was a 2021 First-Team All-CAA and a 2022 Honorable Mention All-CAA recipient.
