Baylor transfer Drake Dabney and returning players DJ Rogers and Chase Curtis are back in the fold.
The TCU football team saw three players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Among the draftees was All-Big 12 First Team tight end Jared Wiley, who caught 47 receptions for 520 yards and eight touchdowns during the 2023 season, his second with the Horned Frogs. With Wiley now playing for the Kansas City Chiefs after being taken in the fourth round of the draft, TCU will have big shoes to fill at the tight end position when the Horned Frogs kick off the 2024 season with their Big 12-ACC road matchup against Stanford on Aug. 30.
Drake Dabney will have his name in the Baylor record books after setting a new single-season receiving record this year.

One name to watch this coming season will be former Baylor tight end Drake Dabney, who signed with TCU over the offseason after hauling in 33 passes for 552 yards and five touchdowns during the 2023 campaign. Dabney arrives in Fort Worth for his fifth season after appearing in 40 games and catching eight touchdown passes over four years with the Bears. The 6-foot-5, 248-pounder from Cypress, Texas will be a candidate to start this fall.
In addition to Dabney, TCU has a pair of veteran tight ends returning for the 2024 season. The Horned Frogs welcome back redshirt junior D.J. Rogers, who totaled seven catches for 78 yards and one touchdown last season. The former four-star recruit from Sammamish, Washington hauled in a 17-yard scoring grab during TCU’s loss against Texas Tech. Rogers brings plenty of game experience, having appeared in 28 games over the last three years.

The senior tight end was off to a strong start in 2023 before injury cut his season short. With top TE Jared Wiley in the NFL, the Frogs will look for Curtis to be a big contributor this fallhttps://t.co/PO5EXxikVM

Also back in the fold is redshirt senior Chase Curtis, who returns for his fifth season with the Horned Frogs. The converted wide receiver moved to tight end in 2023 and grabbed 15 catches for 132 yards and one touchdown in eight games before sustaining a season-ending injury. Curtis has played in 26 games over the last three years and, like Rogers, should continue to see regular action in 2024. Curtis scored his first collegiate touchdown during TCU’s victory over SMU, scoring on a 36-yard grab as the Horned Frogs won 34-17.
Rounding out the tight ends on the TCU roster are redshirt freshman Lafayette Kaiuway and freshman Cole Snodgrass, two three-star recruits, as well as Alabama transfer Jax Porter and freshman walk-on Cade Keith. Kaiuway appeared in four games to preserve his redshirt season in 2023, while Porter did not see game action during his two years with Alabama. As the veterans of the group, Dabney, Curtis and Rogers are the three tight ends TCU will see take the bulk of the reps when the Horned Frogs operate on offense this coming season.
