Week 6 of the 2021 college football season brought tons of drama as Alabama suffered a stunning loss while Oklahoma enjoyed an incredible comeback win over arch-rival Texas. So it should be no surprise that the new Coaches’ Poll top 25 looks very different today.
The Week 7 USA Today Coaches’ Poll was just released and as you might expect, Alabama took a tumble. The now-former No. 1 team in the nation fell to No. 5 – just outside the threshold for College Football Playoff qualification.
Replacing Alabama at No. 1 – to the surprise of nobody – are the Georgia Bulldogs, who notched an easy win over Auburn. Iowa, Cincinnati and Oklahoma – all 6-0 – round out the top four.
Alabama’s path to the College Football Playoff remains clear though: Win out and win the SEC Championship Game, and they’re in. But one more loss to anyone and they’re out of the race entirely.
Here is the full Week 7 Coaches’ Poll top 25:

Dropping off the list were Auburn and Texas, who both suffered crushing losses this past weekend.
Texas blew a massive lead to Oklahoma to lose yet another Red River Showdown. Auburn were barely competitive against Georgia after the first quarter.
There are still a lot of matchups between some of the top teams on the list left to go. Ohio State could easily climb into that top four with wins over some of their Big Ten East rivals in the weeks to come.
