It’s been a month since the Dallas Mavericks shocked the entire sports world by trading superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Everyone felt that Doncic was going to be a Maverick for the rest of his career until the Mavericks moved him to the Lakers.
He played the Mavericks for the first time since being dealt on Feb 25, helping the Lakers win by eight, 107-99. Doncic finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists, which is good for a triple-double.
The Mavericks are currently 10th in the Western Conference with a 32-30 record and recently revealed via ESPN that they’d be raising ticket prices by 8.61% next season. The price increase is due to “ongoing investments in the team and fan engagement.”
Mavericks fans are upset about this since the team is barely above .500 with only 20 games left in the 2025-25 season and because of the trade.
“The Dallas Mavericks just sent me my season ticket renewal, and they increased the prices another 8%. You trade away everyone’s favorite player, make the team worse, and want to charge us more? Get out of here,” one tweet read.
“The Mavs’ last month has been a master class on how to alienate fans,” another tweet read.
“Charging more for a worse product seems to be a commonality among many businesses recently,” another tweet read.
“Raising ticket prices after trading your best player is certainly…a choice,” another tweet read.
“What a hilarious statement considering the current state of the team that would otherwise just be a mundane line,” another tweet read.
In the meantime, the Mavericks will play the Milwaukee Bucks in their next game on Wednesday after losing to the Sacramento Kings on Monday, 122-98.
Wednesday’s game will tip off at 8 p.m. ET.
