Dallas gets a key win
The Dallas Mavericks notched a win againt the Phoenix Suns on Friday night, winning 98-89. It’s the first win of the season for Dallas in three tries against a talented Suns squad. Dallas had a balanced scoring effort while the Suns couldn’t score at all. Following the game, Josh and I broke it down.
We lead with a short summary of what happened in the game, including the third-quarter scuffle which led to the ejections of Naji Marshall, Jusif Nurkic, and PJ Washington. It was a grinding, weird, riotous game I can’t wait to watch again. There were big moments from most of the team, which was fun and different.

After a live read from our sponsor (please visit BodySpec and use code PODMAVS45 to get $15 off a DEXA scan full body scan), I focus on the play of Klay Thompson, a guy who we’ve not talked about near enough on the podcast. He did a little bit of everything this game and though the three point shooting isn’t great, he made a difference in holding the Suns at bay.
This was a big bench game and we babble about Maxi Kleber’s awesome game for sometime and end with some quibbles about Spencer Dinwiddie. Over all, a fun podcast, one I’d recommend.
