Dallas holds off OKC in a back-and-forth affair
The Dallas Mavericks beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road Sunday night, winning 121-119. Following the game, Josh and I talked about the rather odd, but entertaining game.
With Luka Doncic out, this was an interesting game as PJ Washington really took charge and pressed against the smaller Thunder team. He scored early and often, leading Dallas with 27 points and an absurd 17 rebounds. We hit on some of the rebounding struggles with Dereck Lively too during this part.

After a short break, Josh breaks down the Luka Doncic situation as he sees it, hoping that Doncic rests and actually gets well. We end the show with some quick hits on the other guys who played well, like Jaden Hardy, Naji Marshall, and even Spencer Dinwiddie.
This was a nice win. It’s hard to take much from it that’s long term meaningful because Doncic didn’t play, but it’s also hard to be too annoyed with some of the guys who didn’t play well (Klay will hit his shots). Dallas has a slightly lighter schedule ahead next week with one additional day off, so getting two long-term wins is great progress for a struggling team.
See everyone later in the week for the Tuesday and Friday games. Go Mavs.
