The Denver Nuggets declined a sign-and-trade deal with the Dallas Mavericks involving Kentavious Caldwell-Pope last offseason, sources told Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
The Nuggets would have received Tim Hardaway Jr. or Josh Green in the deal.
The Nuggets declined the deal, believing that Christian Braun could fill the role left by Caldwell-Pope. Caldwell-Pope would sign a three-year, $66 million deal with the Magic.
The Nuggets also refused to part ways with Braun, Julian Strawther, or Peyton Watson in a potential deal for Paul George.
Since the Nuggets won the title in 2023, they’ve lost Caldwell-Pope, Bruce Brown, Jeff Green and Reggie Jackson.
