The Mavs have a rest advantage
It is the middle of the afternoon and there’s a small wager out there worth making in the ether if you can find it. MMBets is here to help. Bet responsibly, nothing (good) is guaranteed in life or wagering.
The Dallas Mavericks are in Phoenix to take on the Suns after Kevin Durant and company lost a tough one on the road last night. After leading in the first quarter, the Lakers shooting warmed up and overwhelmed the Suns. Can the Mavericks extend their misery?
Odds up to date as of 1:30 PM CST from the DraftKings Sportsbook
Brent’s Plays
- Tyus Jones over 8 assists (+100)
- Devin Booker over 24 points (-115)
- Klay Thompson over 15 points (-130)
- Dallas Mavericks -3 & over 231 game score (+267)
Tyus Jones is a very efficient point guard and the sort of player the Suns lacked last season. The Suns coaching staff may put the ball in his hands more often in this one. Less freelancing and steadier point guard play after a road loss heading into the second game of a back-to-back is a fair read here.
Devin Booker will do all he can to show out in the latest episode of this one-sided grudge match. It won’t be enough to get the win, but he should get to 24 points and beyond.
Klay Thompson continues his solid start for the Mavericks. Thompson was on fire and received a ton of open looks versus the Spurs. Expect fewer power dribbles leading into shots but counting Thompson reaching 16 points feels very attainable here.
The Mavericks have the rest advantage here with Phoenix coming off a Friday night loss. The Suns will be amped for their home opener in the first half but Dallas should have the fresher team for the fourth quarter.
