The Mavericks look to make magic happen on the second night of a back-to-back.
Game of the Week is the Mavericks and Thunder on a football Sunday. The Mavericks travel to Oklahoma City tonight for their second game in as many nights. This is the first time Dallas has met with the Thunder since their six-game playoff series win in the Western Conference semifinals just six months ago. The Thunder are without much of their depth at center, and Dallas is just getting healthy. This should be a chess match of defensive scheming and a competition in shot making.
Odds up to date as of 10:00 AM CST from DraftKings
Tyler’s Plays
- Mavs +7.5 (-110)
- Jalen Williams over 6.5 rebounds (+105)
- Kyrie Irving over 25.5 points (-125)
- Mavericks under 110.5 points (-110)
I was going to take OKC -4.5, but on the news of Luka being out, this number has gotten to high. OKC will also go small, so Jalen Williams will have to play some 5 and he will be around the rim to grab rebounds. The Kyrie handicap is simple, he’s been in rhythm and someone will have to make up the shots that Luka normally takes. Finally, I’ll take Mavs team total under 110.5, piggybacking off of David’s decision to take the under on total points. I think this game gets slowed down and the Mavericks go low.
David’s Plays
- Under 231 points (-108)
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to get 32+ points (-105)
- Klay Thompson to hit 4+ threes (+110)
- Lu Dort under 12.5 (-105)
This is a clash of two top-ten defenses, with one on a back-to-back. There should be limited scoring and the under should hit. In a contradictory way, I think Gilgeous-Alexander will be the large portion of scoring for Oklahoma City today. This is a personal game for him and he should cook the Mavericks defense. Thompson just had a poor shooting night, so this will be a bounce back for him. Fort had been defended well recently by Dallas and had only went over this line once in the last 6 games against the Mavericks.
Current Net Winnings:
- Tyler: $110
- David: -$610
